About this piece
The modern Kitsune mask is my contemporary read of the Japanese fox. Geometric features, clean lines, a softer expression than the classic matsuri masks. It's the most approachable Kitsune in the workshop, the one people often find prettiest without knowing the folklore behind it.
Available colours
- White: the Zenko (善狐), Inari's messenger fox, the sacred shrine colour.
- Black: the Nogitsune (野狐), the free, nocturnal, more ambiguous fox.
- Burgundy: a rare colour for kitsune, a purple read tied to nobility, a strong identity.
Each colour is hand-painted and varies slightly from piece to piece.

How it's made

FAQ
What's the difference between white and black?
White is the Zenko, Inari's messenger fox, sacred and protective. Black is the Nogitsune, the wild nocturnal fox. Same mask, two reads of the folklore.
