At the summit, where the clouds touch the rock, the air becomes something else. Colder, purer, almost alive. This is the domain of the Ao-Tengu. He who commands the winds, who stirs up storms, and who soars over valleys without ever touching the ground. His mask is the color of the high-altitude sky.
The Tengu is one of the most feared yokai in Japan. Half-man, half-bird, recognizable by his long nose, he is the guardian of the mountains and sacred forests. A master of martial arts, he trained the greatest warriors of Japanese mythology. Feared by monks, respected by samurai.
