Behind the scenes: the Dai Yokai workshop in Brittany
The workshop is located in Plelan-le-Grand, in Ille-et-Vilaine (35). This is where each mask is printed, sanded, painted, and varnished. More than 500 masks have been made since 2020, including official trophies for the Besançon International Tattoo Show 2026.
What is the delivery time for a Dai Yokai mask?
14 working days on average. Each mask is made to order: 3D printing (8-14 hours), sanding, multi-layer painting, varnishing, drying. Delivery in mainland France and Europe.
Are Dai Yokai masks suitable for cosplay?
Yes. PETG is shock and heat resistant (up to 70°C). All masks are true adult size. Fasteners (elastic bands, foam) are not included to allow for use as either cosplay or decoration.
Can a mask be personalized?
Yes. Colors, finishes (matte, satin, glossy), accents (gold, silver), size (child, oversized for giant decorations): everything is customizable upon request. Contact Dai Yokai through the website.
What is the difference between a Dai Yokai mask and a mask bought on Amazon?
Amazon/dropshipping masks are made of industrial injection-molded plastic, often thin, fragile, with paint that chips. Dai Yokai masks are made of 3D-printed PETG, hand-sanded, painted with several layers of acrylic, and varnished. The difference is visible and tangible.
Where can I find Dai Yokai at a convention?
Dai Yokai is regularly present at tattoo and manga conventions in France: Besancon International Tattoo Show, Viry Tattoo Convention, and other events announced on Instagram (@dai.yokai).
Are the masks made in France?
Yes, 100%. 3D printing, sanding, painting, varnishing: everything is done in the workshop in Plelan-le-Grand, Brittany (Ille-et-Vilaine, 35). No subcontracting.
